the depiction of a moonlit Lincoln memorial is not unsubtle if you stop and think. a radiant O in YOrker-- allusion to our newly elected prez, not the sun but the moon-- illuminates a clear starry skies, and i'd venture to guess, a cold near dawn, above the memorial symbolizing something messianic that has just been gifted to our lands. the scene that reminds me of a 1930's deco mono or a yoshida japanese print exudes a calm and peace in a richer, marbled bethlehem...
it feels that way these last couple of days...
